Citrulline Malate

Citrulline is an amino acid, but it is not built into proteins during protein synthesis. Citrulline is made from ornithine and carbamoyl phosphate in one of the central reactions in the urea cycle. It is also produced from arginine as a by-product of the reaction catalyzed Nitric Oxide Synthase family. Citrulline can reduce lactic acid and ammonia levels following exercise and it can raise levels of arginine in the body.
